O’right won first place in the Little Giant group of the Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility held by the CommonWealth Magazine, making history as the first hair care company in Taiwan to earn the top honor following in the steps of three-time winners in the Large Enterprises group, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and Delta Electronics. O’right has taken home first place ever since the Little Giant group was established in 2015, proving their commitment to fulfilling their corporate social responsibilities and promoting green thinking. Other nominees from different categories include Delta Electronics, TSMC and E.SUN Financial Holding Co, Ltd.
The most coveted CSR award in Taiwan, CommonWealth Magazine’s Excellence in CSR, evaluates candidates based on four key aspects of corporate governance, corporate commitment, social engagement and environmental protection. This year, O’right topped the Little Giant list with an aggregate score of 8.847 (and an impressive 9.26 in the environmental protection category), receiving high praise from the judging panel for their efforts in sustainability, for putting CSR at the center of their corporate operations and for encouraging other companies to engage in CSR.
Greenhouse gas emission is a major contributor to global warming. Home to Taiwan’s first GMP certified green cosmetics plant with a Green Factory Label, O’right strives to achieve important milestones on their journey to being an even more sustainable company. From their Green Headquarters to product formula and packaging, the environmental advocate leads the way with sustainable innovations such as bamboo caps, floral box, Tree in the Bottle, 100% renewable plastic shampoo bottles and the world’s first renewable plastic shampoo pump.
O’right green actions do not end there. For eight years, they’ve organized Earth Hour, uniting over 500 enterprises and saving 630,000kWh of electricity and 330,000kg of carbon emissions nationwide, which is equal to the amount of carbon absorbed by 2.8 Daan Forest Parks for an entire year. Since 2011, O’right has adopted 3.6 hectares of forest land, planted 2,660 trees and trimmed branches with the help of staff and salon hairdressers. To continue to make a green difference to more people, the Green Headquarters has welcomed thousands of enterprises and up to 26,000 visitors to the premises.
O’right has broken the record by bagging the award for four years in a row. The green brand once again is recognized for its commitment to the environment and society. As a responsible corporate citizen, O’right hopes to bring positive changes in society and vows to continue their passion on their journey towards a more sustainable future on earth.
